About the temple
Kyathanahally, a calm village in the Hassan Taluk of Hassan District did not have a temple for centuries and the main deity was Sri Lakshmi Janardhana of Bylahally village, just 2 km from the village of Kyathanahally. Observing the high amount of migrations from the village to cities, the villagers decided to construct the Sri Panchamukhi Hanuman temple in the village so that the villagers stranded all over the world can return to the village at least once a year to experience the village.
The Sri Panchtamukhi Hanuman Temple construction was initiated in the year 2006 with a Bhoomi Pooja in the temple construction area. The temple was constructed with close advice from Sri Sri Srimad Abhinava Vageesha Brahmatantra Swatantra Parakala Swamy of Parakala Mutt, Mysore and its disciples. At each stage, the temple construction progress was analysed and reviewed by the Parakala Mutt and its disciples.
The temple is constructed entirely in stone mimicking the traditional dravidian architecture of Tamil Nadu temples. At the core of the temple is Sri Panchamukhi Hanuman, with 5 forms and 10 hands representing the "Panchabhootas" of Nature. The 6.5 foot high idol has 5 faces - 4 at the front and Garuda's face at the back. The core part of the temple is on a raised platform and wide "Prakaram" to enable devotees to get the complete blessings of the Lord. The temple also sports a white Vimana Gopuram which is visible throughout the village and stands at a focal point of the village. Also, Ramanujacharya, Vedanta Deshikan, Nammalwar and Kulashekaralwar don the temple in the prakaram of the temple and bless devotees.
